On the eve of my departure

On the eve of my departure here is the itinerary for my travels in the first half of 2009 :

2 Jan Depart Sydney 1220 Aerolineas Argentinas AR1183 to Buenas Aires
5 Jan Depart Buenas Aires 1315 AR1368 for Lima
Then with Intrepid Travel for Tour of Inca ruins to Macchu Picchu
25 Jan Depart Lima 1430 - Arrive Panama City 1600 on Copa 4882

26/27 Jan Join NEREID in Colon
28 Jan ? Start down Panama Canal
Feb/early March Sailing off Central America

Mid March Leave Panama
Late March Arrive Galapagos
Early April Leave Galapagos
Late April Arrive Marquesas
Early May Arrive Tahiti

From there it depends on how we are feeling as to how fast we want to travel through the islands : Samoa, Fiji, New Caledonia and returning to Australia in July 2009 not sure what date yet.

Boxing Day 2008

So now the Festivities are over for Christmas Day for another year it is time to turn thoughts to the future. Today is Friday - one week today and I fly out of Australia to Buenos Aires - feeling a bit anxious about this - still a few things to do of course.
And this is mt first Blog entry - not very thrilling !
Oh and for my international readers, it is warm, grey and dull in Sydney.
Off to watch the start of the Annual Sydney to Hobart yacht race - very appropriate for one who is about to join NEREID, a 47 foot Beneteau and sail with her from the Panama Canal back to Australia next year.
